Now in Tasmania

Saturday, 28 January 2012

At last I have begun to write of my adventures.  After 3 months on the road in my little Hilux van (shown here with the Nimbin Rocks in the background) I am enjoying myself immensely.  I left from Gladstone after visiting Helen, David and their families before heading south and knowing I wouldn't be back there till late July this year.  Spent time with family and friends as I came south, both on the coast and inland visiting places I hadn't been before.  The only problems were a broken wheel bearing at Kilcoy then needed a new Alternator at Kilmore so am staying away from anywhere that begins with Kil... Arrived in Melbourne to Cath & family early December and have enjoyed time with her family as the girls are growing up so quickly.  Helen and her family were there for Christmas as part of their holiday. I arrived in Tasmania on Monday and have spent the week sightseeing around Launceston, have seen Seahorses, Platypus & Echidna, swum in the Tamar River and ridden the Chairlift across Cataract Gorge. I am camped at Deloraine for a few nights before moving to Sheffield tomorrow, the town renowned for it's Murals, on the way I will visit the little town of  Railton famous for it's Topiaries..
